Note from Our CEO
Eric Niedermayer
In June, with the help of generous donors and foundations, the wonderful work of West Fork, our construction company, and the focus of so many Council staff, the Council moved into its newly constructed home at 157 Blandin Street on the land directly behind our former location.
It’s been a full year since we’ve had a permanent home, and in many ways, we were truly camping out in a temporary location. Since moving in, we have already seen large numbers of staff and clients on site, which tells me many people are excited to be in this new building. I am both thankful and grateful that the wait is over, and that construction and city permitting are now in the rearview mirror.
That is not the case yet for our Dallas location on Cadiz Street, which needs remodeling and repairs. We are currently meeting with West Fork and our architect with hopes of beginning work there this fall.
The Council is always evolving in many ways. Whether through our buildings or through ongoing improvements to our services, we are always striving to better meet the needs of the many individuals, families, and communities we serve.
Agency Updates:
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
After years of planning, perseverance, and community support, the Council is proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting of our new Fort Worth campus—a major milestone in the Transforming for Tomorrow Campaign. Join us Wednesday, August 26, at 9:30 a.m. as we open the doors to 157 Blandin Street and mark a new chapter of hope, healing, and recovery in North Texas.
The need for this transformation began in 2024, when the Council sold its longtime Fort Worth buildings on Airport Freeway to accommodate the Texas Department of Transportation’s planned highway expansion. Although this meant saying goodbye to our former home, the Council was able to retain adjacent property and rebuild behind its previous site—turning a major transition into an opportunity to create a new, modern campus designed to better serve the growing needs of our community.
Since then, the project has moved from vision to reality. After demolition was completed and construction began in 2025, the foundation and framing of the new Fort Worth campus started taking shape—bringing us closer to a welcoming, efficient, and accessible space for youth, families, and individuals seeking care.
With the new campus complete as of May 2026, critical services have now been brought together under one roof, including veterans’ mental health services, outpatient treatment, prevention programs, and housing assistance. The Transforming for Tomorrow Campaign will also include future renovations at the Council’s Dallas campus, further enhancing access to life-changing behavioral health services across the region.
The ribbon cutting serves as a meaningful moment in the Council’s 80th anniversary year. Since 1946, the Council has grown from a community education effort into one of North Texas’ leading nonprofit behavioral healthcare providers. Today, Transforming for Tomorrow builds on that legacy by investing in the spaces, services, and systems needed to meet the needs of our community for decades to come.
We hope you’ll join our board members, partners, staff, and community leaders as we celebrate the generosity and vision that made this new campus possible—and look ahead to the next chapter of growth and impact across the communities we serve.
Community Engagement:
Introducing RRC Next
The Council is excited to launch RRC Next, a new young professionals network designed to engage emerging leaders who are passionate about community impact, wellness, and recovery. Created for individuals ages 21–40, RRC Next provides meaningful opportunities to connect, grow, and give back through networking events, service projects, and mission-focused learning opportunities.
The program serves as both a community and a leadership pipeline, helping cultivate the next generation of advocates, volunteers, and leaders committed to supporting the Council’s mission. Throughout the year, members will have opportunities to build relationships with like-minded professionals across Dallas–Fort Worth, participate in volunteer projects, attend educational sessions, and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit leadership and community engagement.
By investing in young professionals today, the Council is helping ensure a strong future for our mission tomorrow. Whether you’re looking to expand your network, strengthen your leadership skills, or make a meaningful difference in your community, RRC Next offers a place to get involved.
We invite you to learn more, join the network, or share the opportunity with a young professional in your life.
Staff Spotlight:
June Deibel
Meet June Deibel, Director of Community Engagement at Recovery Resource Council. Since joining the Council in 2015, June has built her career in prevention and community engagement, helping connect communities with education, resources, and partnerships that support healthier futures.
June first connected with the Council while completing her degree in Community Health at Texas Woman’s University. At the time, she was considering a career in occupational therapy, but a public health internship with the Council introduced her to prevention work—and quickly became the start of her career. What began as an internship turned into a full-time role before the semester was over. She later earned her master’s degree in Health Education from Texas A&M University and became an Advanced Certified Prevention Specialist, bringing both academic expertise and hands-on experience to her role.
Today, June oversees several community-focused prevention initiatives, including the Prevention Resource Center Region 3, Dallas Area Drug Prevention Partnership, and Kaufman County Thrives. Through these programs, she and her team work with community organizations, coalitions, local leaders, and partner agencies to share prevention resources, provide education, support data-informed decision-making, and strengthen community responses to substance use and related challenges.
For June, prevention is about helping communities take action before challenges become crises. “Prevention can look different from one community to another,” June said. “A big part of my work is listening first, understanding what people are seeing locally, and then helping connect them with the right tools, information, and partners.”
At the heart of June’s work is bringing people together to create community-driven solutions. Through coalition work, she helps connect schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, youth-serving organizations, local leaders, parents, and other partners around a shared goal: building informed, engaged, and empowered communities.
“Coalition work reminds us that no one organization has to solve these issues alone,” June shared. “When people from different parts of the community come together, we can see the bigger picture and work toward solutions that actually make sense for the people who live there.”
By supporting public awareness campaigns, community outreach, healthy messaging, and local data-sharing, June helps ensure prevention strategies reflect the communities they are meant to serve—and that more individuals, families, schools, and community leaders know where to turn for support.
Through her passion for prevention and commitment to meaningful change, June continues to advance the Council’s mission—one conversation, one partnership, and one community at a time.
